Just a daily song is a personal music blog, curated in Belgium. We keep things simple: no ads, no ad networks, and we never sell your data. This page explains the little we do collect.
Analytics
We count visits with Google Analytics 4, connected through Google’s Site Kit plugin. Your browser loads a script from Google (googletagmanager.com) and Google Analytics sets cookies on your device (_ga and _ga_…, valid for two years) to recognise a returning visitor. Those cookies are only set if you click Accept in the cookie notice; if you decline, Google Analytics counts your visit without cookies and without recognising you. We see which pages are viewed, which site you came from, your approximate location (country and city), your type of browser and device, and whether a song’s play button was pressed. Google Analytics 4 does not store your IP address. The data is processed by Google (Google Ireland Ltd., with possible transfer to the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) and detailed data is deleted after 14 months at most. We don’t use Google’s advertising features: no remarketing, no link with Google Ads or AdSense.
Don’t want to be measured? Block cookies for this site in your browser, or install Google’s opt-out add-on. Through Google Search Console we also see which search terms lead people to the site; those are Google’s own aggregate figures, without data about individual visitors.
Forms (contact & song suggestions)
When you use our contact or suggest-a-song form, we store your message, your email address and your name (if you give one) in our own site, and we receive it by email. We use it only to read and reply. It’s never shared with anyone else.
Reactions & comments
Song reactions (🔥 😌 😭 🍺) are anonymous counters — no account, no tracking. Short-lived technical data is used to prevent spam. If you leave a comment, the name and email you enter are stored with it; our spam filter (Antispam Bee) works locally on our server.
My playlist
Your playlist lives in your own browser (localStorage). It is never sent to us — we couldn’t see it if we wanted to.
Notifications
Our free song alerts are delivered through a public Telegram channel (t.me/eenliedjeperdag). Following it happens entirely inside Telegram: this site collects no account, email or personal data from you. Telegram’s own privacy policy applies to your use of Telegram.
Embedded players & external services
Songs are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode and only load after you press play; from that moment YouTube/Google’s own privacy policy applies. Links to Spotify, Telegram, Revolut and other services take you to those platforms, with their own policies.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted. Just use the contact form — messages are kept only as long as needed to reply.
